CXCR6

The CXC chemokine receptor 6 (CXCR6) CXCR6 has a monogamous relationship with CXCL16, which can be found in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CXCR6 is expressed on T cells as well as on NKT cells, NK cells and plasma cells. CXCR6 desensitization, β-arrestin recruitment and internalization are regulated by phosphorylation of carboxyl-terminal serine320/serine321 (pS320/pS321-CXCR6), serine325/threonine327 (pS325/pT327-CXCR6) and serine329/serine331 (pS329/pS331-CXCR6) residues. This nomenclature refers to the human CXCR6. This phosphorylation motif is highly conserved across species and is also present in mice and rats.
